1. WHAT WE OFFER
While we are willing to take on any service or project that may help you do your job more effectively or more efficiently, our key focuses have been:
LEADERSHIP GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
- Coaching and mentoring on a 1:1 or group basis
- Conducting leadership development programs for your leadership teams
- Conducting leadership development programs for your aspiring leaders
- Working in partnership with Leading Teams Australia to provide the 1:1 follow-up work that LTA recommends as necessary and complementary to their work
- Providing literacy consultancy and project support to build the capacity of your middle managers (domain leaders and literacy co-ordinators) to develop teachers’ skills in teaching literacy skills
STRATEGIC PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION
- Assisting you to undertake all phases of your strategic planning review – data analysis and interpretation; preparation and development of your self evaluation; preparation and development of your strategic plan; preparation and development of your AIP
- Assisting your leadership teams and the individuals in these teams to action plan, based on the Strategic Plan’s Key Improvement Strategies and Key Implementation Actions
- Acting as a critical friend and strategist for your PCO and Leadership Team in the work of developing and implementing both the Strategic Plan and the AIP
- Acting as the critical friend for your Negotiated Review
- Acting as the Leadership Coach for both your team collectively and its members individually, including PCOs
- Writing self evaluations strategic plans and annual reports or any parts thereof
- Developing and implementing Literacy Action Plans
- Reviewing your leadership structures to ensure that they accord with your strategic priorities, and helping you build the capacity of your new teams to adopt their new roles
- Assisting with development and implementation of marketing and public relations plans
WORKFORCE PLANNING AND BRIDGING
- Helping you review your workforce plan, or any of its parts, to ensure it accords with your available resources
- Helping you work through the processes associated with workforce bridging
- Helping you work through staffing issues and their resourcing
FACILITIES PLANNING AND PREPARATION
- Doing whatever part of the “legwork” principals find time-consuming and onerous in the planning and implementation of the range of different facilities projects that take up so much of PCO time
- Advising on issues concerning any aspect of the above
AN INDEPENDENT, PROFESSIONAL PERSPECTIVE
- Advice, support and counsel from experienced ex-PCOs who’ve experienced many of your issues, and are keen to help
- Excellent understanding of DEECD requirements of you, and skill and experience in helping you to respond accordingly
- Advice and support on longer term career planning

2. HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
- You pay CRT rates per hours we spend working on your behalf, plus any travel costs we incur, at 50c per km
- VASSP invoices you at the end of each term, and pays its project officers
- You contact VASSP office, or one of the Project Officers listed below directly

Lesley Douglas
former Leading Teacher, Pembroke Secondary College. Lesley is our newest member. She specialises in helping you progress your teaching and learning agenda. She can assist you in the following aspects of school improvement:
- building the capacity of KLA leaders and staff to improve what is taught and how it is taught;
- developing, implementing and managing quality professional learning teams (PLTs) and using classroom observations, learning walks and qualityfeedback to improve teacher capacity;
- improving student engagement and achievement;
- conducting successful meetings that focus on professional learning and strategic planning; and
- developing Literacy Plans and Programs
